I really don't think there is a way to make the PB meaningful or interesting and the NFL has realized it. They are probably on their way to phasing it out so seems like a reasonable move to me.

The fans vote makes it a fucking joke. Farve over Rivers is evidence of this.

I agree. A meaningless football game where everyone is afraid to get injured (rightly so) is not something the NFL needs. I can understand High school and college all-star games as recruiting opportunities but in the Pros it's completely superfluous.

They should just have a ceremony before or at halftime of the Superbowl for them where they are officially introduced as Pro Bowlers.

Cancel it. All-Star games suck anyway and the NFL version is the worst of the bunch.

Players would hate that as a good number I would guess have clauses in their contracts for bonus's if they make it

As far as I'm concerned they should just announce either Pro Bowl 'rosters' or All-Pro. I never saw the reason to have two separate distinctions. If you aren't going to have a game, do we really need Pro Bowl designations or could we scrap it and just have a league 'All Pro' team?

NFLPA would probably fight that for the above reason of clauses and just having an All Pro team would eliminate a ton of spots.
