I don't think you can blame them for that pick. He went pretty much where everyone had him going didn't he?

It's the teams job to pick the right player, not pick the guy mel kiper thinks should go that high.

Let's limit statements of people being fired to guys who are actually out of a job.

Mangini is a little surprising. That franchise is being run so poorly, and they're so envious of the Giants and Pats that they've made all kinds of bad decisions trying to get there. But he's the one that signed up for it, and couldn't make it happen with a bunch of bought talent.

Does look like Pioli is on the move. Whether he does take Cassel or McDaniels is another thing. Does look like rumors point away from Cowher going to any of these shitty teams. Which is smart.

he wasn't a terrible value, and he wasn't a bad fit for the system (that they're stuck with now). He hasn't done a thing, though.

Mel Kiper liked lawrence maroney, and Reggie bush, and J.Addai better than willams, Hated the beason pick, Thought the panthers were crazy for the Otah, Stewart pick. ;)

Count Nolan at SF (already filled with Singletary. He was interim but I think they've hired him for real)
Kiffin at Oakland (Cable is interim only but may have a shot)
Linehan at StL (Haslet is interim only but may have a shot)
so that's 6 total so far.
Holmgrem out for Mora - voluntary, but still a coaching change. If you count that, its 7.

I got the impression Mangini was being blamed for bringing in the old vets. Not sure where I got it, or if its true. I'm surprised at him. Perhaps it was a personality conflict.

I don't think Gruden gets blamed for the D collapse once Kiffin announced he was joining his son. For some reason, I believe JJ is really going to keep Phillips, although he should not.

There was a little talk about Zorn in Wash, but unless you lose the team, I think you should get more than one year.
