What has happened to the Panther defense the last two weeks. Killed on the ground by the Giants and raped through the air by the Saints.

We knew that the D-line was weak coming into the season. Charles Johnson looked like he was going to make an impact for a while there but has faded. The LBs are good, even if they overpursue and get themselves out of position on occasion. The CBs are also solid, but we have one safety who can't cover and another who is making the expected rookie mistakes.

Honestly I didn't see a lot of blown assignments or bad coverage today, Brees was just playing like Brees does in New Orleans. The Saints averaged 33 points per home game this season.

I think Johnson's been decent. I figured DE would be worse than DT and was wrong. Not enough pressure as typical, but maybe heading upward. At least, I'd say that I'd pencil in those two to rotate again.

One thing that pissed me off, now that I think about it, is that Meacham nonsense where he was obviously getting the ball and scored on a swing pass. You don't give guys that easy a score, and it's not often Brees is that blatant with his decisions.

Was that the Saints last score? If so maybe we gave it up easy so we could get the ball back with more time on the clock. As soon at Baker's punt shanked everyone knew the Saints would score a TD and take the lead.

Our run defense sucking can be understood since we are hurting at DT. I think our secondary is getting exposed a bit though. Lucas has lost a step and Marshall is not as good as he first appeared. Our only safety who can cover is a rookie. It also hurts that none of them can hang on to an interception when it hits them in the hands.

Brees was Brees, true. But he ate Lucas up. It was so bad that during the comeback, he only looked left when he dropped back on several series. He knew he had our number on that side of the field.

Lucas had better get his head out of his arse. Warner or Ryan will pick him apart. I think currently, we'll match up more favorably with Minnesota, if our DT's are healthy enough to stop the run.

    No Pressure

Agreed our pass coverage is pretty bad but we never blitz, the opposing qb has all day to find a reciever, our defense has been suspect all year but now they look terrible going into playoffs, offense looks great.
