The "crown molding" in the living room is just a 2-1/4" strip of gloss white paint. There's no molding up there. Since the house is plaster, the ceilings and walls don't meet evenly at all. I cut a 4' strip of wood to the thickness I wanted, put the wood against the ceiling and drew a line all the way around. I used wide masking tape to even out the line and painted it white. I plan to do the same in the bathroom. I need to put shoe molding down too.

The bathroom sink has to be replaced at some point. I want a pedestal sink to make more room, but that means replacing the floor, replastering more walls, and a lot more crap I'm not willing to do right now. So, those cheapo handles will stay until I decide to do that.

    Very very nice. :N1YouGoGirl:

I love how those outlets are in the baseboards and not in the wall. I might not love it if I had to use them, but I love them there for asthetic purposes.

It's nice. The exterior walls in this house are brick, then 4" concrete block, with plaster right over the block. I guess it was just easier than trying to recess them in the block. Only the light switches are done that way and some were actually in the door trim instead. The person that built this house had no clue what he was doing. 1948 was a good year for that apparently.

I considered that. There's no real need. The neighbors can't see into the shower. In the spring and fall, I can open the window.

.....nice work for sure. Just an option for you to consider......the bathroom is narrow, so painting it a medium/dark shade only makes it feel smaller.
I've remodeled many homes that were built about the same time as yours. One thing we did in the narrow bathrooms was to "faux" finish a faded horizontal pattern on the walls above the wainscoating. Its damn sure a must to have a very light color scheme with a complimenting color for the striping.....and VERY washed out.
When the bathroom has a washed faded light color, you can accent the room with color in the shower curtain and towels.
BTW, I was the builder, not the decorator.

The shitter looks nice. I'm glad they took all of the Jesus stuff down that was behind it. That would make me paranoid.
