Anyone have one? My daughter wants one for Christmas. I am not even sure what they are, the cost, or what you do with it.

I've got one. Mine's one of the consumer grade ones (not sure the model). I paid $100 for it, but I think they've got the same thing without a mouse for closer to 80. It's pretty cool once you get the hang of it - you can paint, edit photos, draw whatever with it just like using a pen (for the most part).

If I were doing it all over again I'd get one of the higher end models, but for a kid, I think the entry level ones would be perfect.

Tablet's are junk and frequently have short life due to the lack of ventilation. Next to impossible to upgrade so its life span is limited to three years at best, but a low end model may not last you 2.

wait... typed before double checking, but I was referencing Tablet PCs, not the drawing pads that attach to a desktop. My bad.

I am looking at the Wacom Intuos Tablet 6x11 or 9x12. I haven't seen these less than $450.00 online (not counting Ebay which run anywhere from 250-300.) Not sure if I want to go Ebay for something like this.
