I didn't make it a Delhomme issue, you did. You tried to mute criticism of Jake by idiotically suggesting that most of the team was playing just as badly:

Now do yourself a favor and either admit that it was a dumb thing to say (which you won't) or just shut the fuck up about it. Trying to defend a statement that unbelievably stupid just digs your grave that much deeper. Learn when to shut your mouth.

No. I stated criticism of Jake emphatically. I never said a single positive thing about his game.

I'm just checking in on this thread, so I won't get into who is barking at whom over what.

Carolina sucked Sunday, and the best part of the game was the final score.

    Period.

    Detroit is next.

Just a quick comment. It depends on how you read what Mags said or interpret it. I didn't read it as defending Jake since the last comment was you'd expect more from a veteran QB. Early in the game I thought the D looked a bit soft - at times Oakland moved up and down the field pretty fluidly although as always the D toughened when it came to giving up 6 over 3. I don't follow Oakland at all, but from all I'd been hearing it seemed it was a game we should have pretty much owned and although the D stiffened and became more dominant, Oakland had more success against them then I expected. Oh and had Oakland not shot themselves in the foot multiple times, the final ending may have been VERY different. They were their own worst enemies while Jake was their best friend.

But yeah, Jake was glaringly the biggest problem we had and would have been Oakland's MVP had they won. I didn't read Mags' comments as defending Jake - I read it as Jake was awful and the rest of the team struggled a lot more then you want to see at this point of the year with the coming schedule against a bad team.

Maybe you have discussed it before but anyway, i just want to bitch.

Why is it that Fox has the worst fucking announcers on the planet? Why do I feel like i am watching a radio feed from the opposing teams network when they play the panthers? It seems that nobody ever has anything good to say about us. (Joe Buck and Aikman excluded).....gotdamn it gets on my nerves...I realize that overall the performance yesterday sucked....but its every game whether we win or lose.

    thoughts/prayers?

I don't get that. Brian Baldinger always pumps us, as well as the opposing team. I think yesterday's Fox doods were ok, and they've done a few other games this year of ours also.

What I don't understand, is that Fox this year has hardly had any double headers this year. CBS has almost every Sunday. So most of the late games I've had to endure shitty AFC teams this year. Fox had no early game in the Carolina Market yesterday, and has had only a coupla late games (after the Panther's 1pm-et) this year (in our market anyway).

Baldinger and Billick railed Jake all afternoon (even before he began his epic fail day), with Billick riding Jake about his career completion percentage (he said it was around 60% or something).

While it may be true (and I haven't looked it up), it seemed like that trio (and Stockton is officially senile) were falling over each other to say nice things about Oakland, when in fact they are massive suck.

Baldinger says good things about the Panthers pretty much all the time on NFL Network.

Railing Delhomme for his performance yesterday was justfied. I don't think Billick giving his opinion was out of line at all.

Billick has a bad 'voice' or presence or something, but I've liked what he's had to say.

    Jake was awful.
