When I see taste that bad, I can pretty much ignore the whole thing - clearly they didn't know what they were doing.

Depends on your dirt - mine will add value if I can build for $50k or so, and add value to my life for 1.5 years until we sell. But that's reassuring to hear that yet another one is in the ballpark I'm shooting for.

 

bootay, are you going to rent it out? Let the kids live there when they get older? Is it simply for investment purposes?

 

rent out the garage with apartment? I'm going to have my office up there, freeing a bedroom in the main house so my two kids can each have a bedroom. I'm going to have my nerdfests there (Rock Band, baby). I'm going to have my nookie pad up there (babysitter, escape to detached, locked apartment, booya). Etc.

Then I'm going to sell the house in 1.5 years and move to where my wife's teaching job is (could be in the area, could be somewhere else, regardless it'll be a move).

The fact is, my house is too small. I'm doing a ton of repairs, but it's not enough - I need to be 4br/3ba, and over 2000sq ft. If I can do that, all nice, it'll sell fast even in a down market at a good price. The cheapest space addition in my place is the garage addition, and the current garage is HORRIBLE and is preventing me from doing other nice simple upgrades, so...

 

Cool. Sounds like it makes a ton of sense. Especially for the nerdfests and the bang sessions with the babysitter. Werd.

I think it means he's gonna leave his sperm in/on his wife in the privacy of the clubhouse in his backyard. And then play video games.
