Just nuked about .10 acres of it at my place. Took 6 guys with 7 machetes 8 hours to get it all cut through, stripped, and sprayed with some kind of deep-root napalm. It'll all be back in the spring.

A couple of summers ago I cut it down with a lawnmower and then a weed wacker. Then I sprayed it with RoundUp. Every now and again I'll have to pull up a rogue vine or two but that pretty much took care of it.

Great - we did a mix of roundup and some other evil (but similar process otherwise, except it actually did involve machetes to break up the thick vines, weed eaters to rip off the leaves to make the roundup get to the ground better).

It usually takes two or three steps to get rid of the stuff. I initially just sprayed the ivy with a weed killer and the ivy basically laughed at me. I hate ivy.
