    Taking Eric Shelton in the second round when Marion Barber went in the fourth is pretty sad. You can do that kind of analysis with any draft though.

    Yeah, although to be fair, I think we (meaning the people on this board who grade prospects) were all in a state of disbelief that the 49ers considered Alex Smith worthy of that spot. The national media is too scared to make statements like that, though.

    I heard the day of the draft, or the day before, that if Smith didnt go #2, he might fall toward the end of the 1st round just like Rogers. SCARY!
