He got hit in the hip, not the knee, and his leg wasn't planted. I'm sure it hurts like shit and he has a nasty bruise, but he got lucky.

    Good news on Moore
Submitted by Darin on Fri, 2008-08-29 13:10.
A Panthers official just said tests Friday on QB Matt Moore all turned out negative, so he gets the ever-popular "day-to-day" designation.

Moore went down in a heap late in Thrusday's preseason finale, with what appeared to be a knee problem. However, it was later termed a "lower leg contusion." Expect Moore to be sore, but the impact on this weekend's decision-making could be profound.

If they were thinking about keeping two quarterbacks on the active roster, that thought's probably gone, until they know Moore's fine.

He didn't look particulary good last night. Do we keep Brett and Moore or both?

In fairness, the second stringers mostly look just really sorry to me. Add the WR musical chairs that's been going on, it wasn't the best situation.

That said, no he didn't look great.

    I keep both.

Quinn Gray, John Beck, Matt Cassell, are looking like the only sure bets to be cut.

Beck would probably end up in Dallas. I'd go back to Vinny before adding Cassell or Gray. Right now I'm fine with Baz as the emergency plan.
