    John Elway was coming off back to back superbowls, pretty easy to walk away after winning the big one twice. Marino considered an offer from the Steelers after he retired, but chose not to.

    There's going to be a backlash coming from this. The Packers aren't going to make the playoffs this year without Favre. I wouldn't be surprised if both Thompson and McCarthy are jobless after the season. McCarthy wouldn't even have his job had he not had had a prior association with Favre as his QB coach and now he's Thompson's hatchetman. Thompson has been in hiding the past couple of days letting McCarthy do all the trashing of Favre.
    I don't think trying to bribe Favre with 25 million to stay retired is going to set well with the shareholders.

    With all the buzz about Favre, and the obvious need for retired QB's, Slingin Sammy Baugh has just announced he is un-retired.
