You're on crack. Brennan hit Fred Davis with an absolute dart at around the tail end of the third quarter, about 20-25 yard pass between the corner and the safety if memory serves.

Fred Davis caught three passes for 8, 8, and 7 yards. You could be thinking of the 26 yard pass to Jason Goode, but that was one of those arcing floaters.

    Edit:
Yep, you can see the play on Goode's NFL.com page. The ball had no zip on it and if the LB hadn't been a scrub, it obviously would have been picked off.

I didn't see any darts from Colt, now that Collin mentioned it. His passes that were impressive were over the top fall in the barrel variety. Well, his pass on the move for the second td was pretty nice, but it too wasn't all that fast.

he does. His lack of a fastball does hurt him, and he has some issues staying in a pocket. He's very much used to a moving pocket, sprint out type pass, too.

That he can't develop into a solid player? No. And QB drafting is largely a crapshoot anymore, in that there are a lot of guys that still go way too early and some that fall back, but I don't see anything in Brennan that suggests he's special. He can make a lot of throws, but can he hit a guy that isn't open, drop it in the chute, and not have it die on him?

I don't really think so. It's going to be a situation where you can throw up jump balls but the rest would have to be timing routes. And yeah, the sideline outs would be in question.

It's not a crapshoot at all, it's just that most people focus on all the wrong things. But yeah, Brennan maxes out as a solid backup at best. He's sort of a very poor man's Philip Rivers.

I read part of this thread before watching the game on TiVo last night and specifically remember this throw as one that would have been picked off by any decent LB. All the LB had to do was raise his arms a little bit more and at best it would have been deflected...should have been a pick.

yeah, zorn said as much. saying he wouldn't be able to get away with that in a real game. It's not like the colts are known for defensive depth either.

Case #1 for why preseason games don't mean squat.

First of all no team is going to be in that defense vs that offensive set in the regular season. It's a tough matchup for most backers, and that backer was slow and stiff, not a good combo.
