Winning at Indy in NASCAR will never be more prestigous than winning at Daytona. Ever.

    I'm lost...
While I would agree that, as a spectator, the road coarse races are boring as hell, I actually think they do more than any other type of track to determine which drivers are truly better than others... rather than just who can throw more money into their cars. There's a lot more driver skill involved in a road coarse.

And if I were voting for which tracks to go to based solely on entertainment value, I'd say get rid of everything except the short tracks and super-speedways.

The road courses are the only ones I could consider watching.

That's the thing, NASCAR is all about THE CAR. You hear more about who had the best car, who had the best setup of the car, and who's car was fastest per lap, etc. When you race on a road course, its not all about the car, instead, the focus shifts to the driver. It takes more to negotiate a car through left and right turns, hairpins, chicanes, and through traffic during one of these turns.

Personally, NASCAR needs to look into more races at road courses such as Indianapolis, Road Atlanta, Road America (Wisconsin), & Laguna Seca (California) in addition to the current races at Infineon Raceway and Watkins Glen International. It would definitely be much better than second races at New Hampshire, Pocono, California, and Texas.

If NASCAR ever wants to lose fans, that might make sense.

anyone remember when the Camel GT Cars ran at Charlotte Motor Speedway(lowes motor speedway) ?

The cars entered the infield course just past the end of pit road, and left the infield course at the start of turn 1.. then ran the regular track ..

it made for pretty good racing..i would like to see it in NASCAR..\

only problem i see is it eliminates most of the infield ticket sales...

What's so wrong with a road course? It brings alot of parity to the sport. After a while, going around and around in a car gets quite old.

NASCAR = Left turn racing (The only good parts are the first 30 laps and the final 30 laps. If the race is on Sat night, go out to dinner. If the race is on Sunday, catch some Z's). Car operators, not drivers.

IRL, CART, Formula One = All around drivers. Racing on ovals and road courses.
