OREGON RUNNING BACKS COACH GARY CAMPBELL

He's the best guy I've ever had, hands down (Campbell also coached Reuben Droughns and Onterrio Smith at UO). He's 235 pounds, runs a 4.3 40, benches 425 pounds, what more do you need? He does everything you ask him to do. He's a great person, an all-around kid, a strong Christian kid, a good student. He's the best kid I've ever had, period. ... I think he'll be a starter in the NFL quickly, he's got the ability to be the NFL's poster boy. ... He was a traditional I-back in high school, one of the top backs in the country. So he was an I-back before. He's such a versatile kid that he converted easily to our offense, and I think that'd be an advantage. He shows he's going to adapt to anything you need him to do. I think it's a plus that he was in a spread here, and not in conventional offense, because he'd proven it as an I-back in high school. His skills, they were just as sharp in our spread, and we did have him do some 'I' things, in a kind of 'pistol' offense. The biggest thing is that he's going to do, and any back can do, is break and avoid tackles, catch the ball, and gain yards. ... He's got very good hands, very good hands. He caught a lot of screens, and we'd throw downfield to our backs, we spread them out, so he's been running routes downfield. ... The guy's 235 pounds, he can block anybody. There's no linebacker he's going to be afraid to block. ... I wouldn't say he's a rah-rah yelling guy, he leads by example. The things that he does on field, in practice, in the weight room, they speak for themselves. If need be, he'll speak up to give teammates a lift. But he's mainly a worker, and he shows how dedicated he is. ... He's a strong Christian, doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, he just goes to practice, goes to school and plays football, and has a good clean life. ... He'll be an impact player.

Please tell me that isn't him, and if it is, that it's a pic from a costume party or something.

Oh, I thought it was a suggestion that his old coach was merely pimping him.

I wouldn't be concerned about his changing schemes. I'm concerned about most analysis saying he's big but doesn't play big and times fast but doesn't play fast. That coupled with his injuries is the real issue. He's got a good head though.
