Thanks LarryD for posting this. I wish this organization had been around in 1977 when My wife and I lost our first son. He was still born. He was a beautiful 7 lb 8 oz boy who died in his 9th month of life because the medical nurses at the hospital didn't do their jobs. But I won't get into all that. We never held our son. I was only 21 and really did not know how to deal with this. My wife had to stay in the hospital for a week due to the childbirth problems and I had to go home clean out our baby's room we had made{this was our 1st child and since it was before MRI's we had a huge assortment of stuff for either a girl or boy}. I then had to arrange for a funeral for my son. I didn't take any pictures of him but our pastor did and told us if we ever wanted to see them he would always have them. He died in 2005 and his family never found those pictures of our little Son. Today I would give anything for a photo of our first son.

It seems really strange to me...but on the other hand it gives families who are grieving beyond belief a way to humanize the memory of their child and the plans they had for them as parents. I'm not sure how you can criticize them unless you've been there. Just my .02

That's not something I even want tot think about right now considering I have a sex week old girl but in the long run, it would be worth doing for sure. How often do you do back and look at loved one's pictures who are gone now just to remember them before.

    wow.

this is powerful and i have to admit hard to look at. i could not finish looking through the images on the second link.

black and white photos sometimes capture more human emotion than color ever could. do you think you are strong enough to capture the beauty behind death, larry? if so then do volunteer. give them a small piece of closure and peace in their moment of need.
