DT: we still have very little depth. One late round pick is not going to get it done, look for Rod Coleman to get another look.

DE: we are looking at starting either Brayton, McClover or Johnson. Depth will not be an issue but where is the pass rush coming from. On paper we have downgraded the DL since last year and last year sucked.

S: Holt had better be serviceable

FB: Another year with out a real lead blocker. I like Hoover but he is not a great lead blocker and he is getting old. Would it have killed them to add Owen Schmidt?

Bottom line: the running game should be improved but the pass rush got no better and may have slipped even further.

What we will need is some Gregg Williams/Monty Kiffin style creativity to manufacture a pass rush. Too bad Trgo can't sniff those guys jocks, but that could have been some kind of stop-gap till we re-stock the D line.

    agreed

I'm betting this is who the team goes with. There comes a point the team HAS to see what McClover or Johnson can do as players. There may be another added for depth, but odds aren't good.

I expect Godfrey to get a chance to take the FS job, but he's got a lot of work to do as a rookie to learn the system.

Panthers don't really use a lead blocker that much except when done by the H-Back.

    Good point!!
rushing just the 4 lineman isnt gonna work! we dont have a good enough line! We need some creativity!! start blitzing more!! we have 3 good corners ( 4 if Godfrey stays at CB)

If Peppers wants that big money contract he is going to have to earn it. If he shows any ability again he is going to get double and triple teamed on all passing situations. I expect a slight increase in pass rush by starting Lewis but Kemo and whoever the RDE is look like run down players.

He wants it alright. He'll be off the charts this year so that he can buy a bunch of bottles of Hypnotiq or whatever in the V.I.P. room.
