I wonder if we were competing with them?

They moved up 2 picks later - reasonable to assume they were on the horn with Philly, too. Might explain the ridiculous price we paid.

Good point. They got their RT, and I like ours better. Could be.

I don't know tht it justifies the price, but it might explain it. Especilly if Philly let it me known that ATL was calling.

They paid a lesser price but got a much worse tackle. The problem is, we didn't necessarily need a tackle. Wharton and Gross were adequate starters already. I don't see where adding Otah and moving Wharton to guard is much of an upgrade, especially considering that Wharton is a better tackle than guard. It makes more sense for next year when Gross is presumably gone and Wharton is back at LT, but I don't see why we had to pay such a huge price for that.

We supposedly tried calling every team from 14 until someone bit. I wonder why then, but at least it wasn't because we were in panic because Cherilus went.

We did force Atlanta's hand. One big upside is we didn't trade off a #1 in panic so that we cold take Sam Baker, who I can't see being worth all this.

By the way, Jacksonville paid two thirds and a fourth (427 points) to move up from 26 to 8 (700 points).

    Edit:
Oh, and according to the trade value chart we lost about 250 points to Philadelphia.
