The Carolina Panthers have signed unrestricted free agent guard Milford Brown from the St. Louis Rams, the team announced Friday.
Brown, 28, has appeared in 47 games with 43 starts in six seasons with Houston, Arizona and St. Louis. Signed as a free agent by St. Louis during training camp in 2007, Brown (6-5, 330 pounds) started 15 games for the Rams last year, making nine starts at left guard, four at right tackle and two at right guard.
Originally selected in the sixth round of the supplemental draft from Florida State by Houston in 2002, Brown saw action in 19 games with 16 starts over four seasons with the Texans. He signed with Arizona as an unrestricted free agent in 2006 and started 12 games for the Cardinals.
A native of Montgomery, AL, Brown was a two-time junior college All-American at East Mississippi before transferring to Florida State prior to his junior year. He started all 12 games at guard for the Seminoles in 2001 and ranked second on the team with 45 pancake blocks.
