Do we go after another guy? They're going on the assumption, at this point, that Muhammad and Jarrett will "compete", though I doubt they'd pickup a blocking WR and not use him liberally on running downs.

But is that enough? I don't doubt that they would fill out the 5th WR, and that's a good place for a later pick - our 6 or 7, on a guy with average size, speed like Colbert that won't need to play right off. It's whether we're going to go from handing Jarrett a potential start to making him earn an active spot again, and insurance against the worst case scenario - Muhsin rapidly declining, Jarrett not being able to contribute, injury, any of it.

We don't have a lot of money, so do we go basement level for a veteran, or do we escalate the draft pick need to a 3 or 4?

I guess it depends on if they are thinking playoffs and making a run next year or not.

So, dumb question, I know - but hey, the rotten tea has me all messed up..... Are 89, 87, 80 and Robinson the only WR's on the roster now?

We have some other scrubs but those four are the only ones of note.

I think we stick with what we have or maybe add a late draft pick. We are only going to have four active wide outs anyway. Worst case is that Moose and Jarrett both suck. That is no worse than we were with Colbert and Carter. If we do anything in free agency I would just as soon bring Carter back. He is a good deep threat and knows the system.

Rosario may not be a WR, but he can catch and he's a big target.

Wasn't there a guy the team had on the practice squad that they liked? I think he was just resigned earlier this year.

In any case, I'd like to have a guy that would be a solid possession receiver. Nothing fancy, but just a guy that if the ball hit him square in the hands he would catch it.

we have travis taylor too, he played decently enough for the vikings or somewhere recently. He's not the answer, but he is on the roster at least. He caught 57 balls in 2006.

    The other interesting guys are:

    Jason Carter
    Travis Taylor

The way I see the depth chart right now, pre-free agency and draft, is:

    Smitty
    Moose
    Jarrett
    Robinson
    Carter / Taylor

IMHO, that's a fine group before the offseason aquistions really even begin.

    Jason Carter.

I think we have what we are going to have. We need to address other positions first via free agency and the draft. If it turns out we end up needing someone I assume we'll pick that person up on the cheap after pre-season is over. We'll know if Jarret will be ready way before then.
