I don't like any of the perceived top guys enough to draft them first day.

Is he worth a 7 in your opinion?

I have a concern about us not addressing the QB position and I guess that's my way of saying I am not sold that Jake will be back to normal and I certainly don't want to go into the season relying on Moore and Baesenez.

Moore was ok in limited action but to hang our season on him I think is a bit premature IMO.

I am not suggesting we need to use our 13 or trade up to snag a QB, but until we address the matter in a satisfactory manor then I will be concerned. The tough part is, define satisfactory....a proven vet or drafting a high round guy would probably be fine by me.

Ryan would probably not be able to take over if Jake does not come back. Rookie QBs are very rarely ready to start from day one. Big Ben is the only guy I can think of whose team had a great season when he had to start as a rookie.

If there is legit concern over Jake then we need to sign a veteran back up.

perhaps that is why they are hanging onto Carr.

There aren't a lot of decent vets available in FA this year.

We should rebuild.....based on our effort we are far away from contention. We have had some bad breaks with draft picks, and injuries. We don't have alot of depth at the positions we have solid starters in and we have one playmaker on offense.

We have 1.5-2 playmakers on defense. We don't have a solid foundation, on either side of the ball.

overall? Not really. The draft is stocked with trench players and skill players that are better than him. I tend to rate high QBs lower anyway, where often the draft guys overall will push the top QB or two to the top 5 immediately. I think Ryan's a top 15 prospect. Would I draft him for us? No.

That's why I wouldn't mind a stable vet in there somewhere. In a way it forces basanez to step up and win an unlikely roster spot but I think he can stay PS for a year if needed, and if not, whatever.
The idea to get a Carr to back Jake was solid. He himself had so many issues it backfired, but that type choice is all we need.

Sadly, some of you seem to forget that Delhomme's not any good either. He's better than what we have, but everyone seems to think he was Tom Brady when he got hurt. Truth of the matter is, we have 3-4 avg QBs on our team. Moore has a chance to be better than all of them in my opinion. But Delhomme wasn't a great QB, and now with a serious injury to his throwing arm will probably not even be good. Tommy John surgery makes it tough for a baseball pitcher to return, and as we all know the football is a little heavier than a baseball. So, he's facing a huge hurdle to just be able to throw again. Much less throw with the arm strength needed in an NFL quarterback.

My vote is, instead of trading up to tak Ryan, we trade down with say the Cowboy's, like mentioned earlier and pick up Flacco with the lower pick in the first round. I'd rather do that than trade up to get Ryan.
