Dwayne Jarrett is the "best bet" to be the Panthers' No. 2 receiver in 2008, according to the Rock Hill Herald.

The Panthers could sign Muhsin Muhammad to battle Jarrett, but the coaching staff remains high on the rising second-year player. It's still perplexing that they were so hesitant to dress Jarrett on game days as a rookie.

It seems that if there is ANY doubt as to a players readiness as a rookie, this staff errs on the side of holding them out. While guys like Beason and Gross were thrown into the fire, guys like DeAngelo Williams and Thomas Davis were held back and developed into good players.

Steve Smith is still as good as anyone in the league. Last season he was as good as he ever was when Jake was in there. Horrible QB, mostly from Carr kept his numbers down.

Even if we do not get a decent #2 option in the passing game Smith will still be elite next year as long as he gets decent QB play.

Moose and Jarrett would be enough....
