It was no perception. Baltimore was NFL. NYJ were AFL. Two totally separate leagues at the time. Like the NFL and CFL today.

Yeah, Brady's throwing shoulder didn't have any affect at all on that all-universe offense. Nope, not at all. What was his completion percentage again?

A lot of people forget that or never knew it. The Colts were thae bad boys of a league that was head and shoulders above the AFL.

If you go back and read about the matchup and research the difference in rosters it was more like a college team beating a pro team.

Of course, my mistake. I thought you meant LEAGUE, in the context that they werent near as good. I forgot all about that, so that does change things. I still think this upset is greater.

Listen, dont fucking change what I said to make your goddamn point. I never said it didnt have an affect on the game, I just think to say that thats the REASON they lost, is a cop out. The Giants defense made Brady play like shit, not his shoulder. His completion percentage tells me that there was a flawed gameplan, and that he was getting hit as he threw the ball often, which happened. So how is it that the Giants defense didnt affect the game again, and Brady's shoulder lost the game, lowering the rank of this upset again?

Anyway, because Namath's guarantee is so entrenched in history as the greatest upset, some will never stray from that, and thats fine. But whatever the reasons are, the Giants toppled a Juggernaut, one they had no business defeating, with injuries as well. I guess only the Patriots injuries mattered???

    Fair enough.

    NO YOU LISTEN!

    Just kidding.

I totally agree that Brady's injury was not the only reason the Pats lost. The interior OL played like they had hangovers, or they were really pissed at him. Belichick had more than one brain fart, and I don't know when the last time that happened, if ever. There were a lot of contributing factors to what happened, and when you weigh it all out, I think it's going to be one of those things in football history that'll be debated on message boards and corner bars for a very long time.
