I actually like Tiki from his stint on the news. He should just shut up about some things though.

the end result is that if he'd kept his mouth shut, he'd have been fine.

Then again, a lot of people wouldn't have known he was on TV or cared if he hadn't opened his mouth. He tried to make himself known and that comes with positives and negatives. Probably got concerned looking at other RBs (who were better) like Faulk amd Martin who faded away after years of struggle.

Actually the end results is that if he'd kept his mouth shut, he wouldn't have been doing his job. He was asked to give his take on the Giants as part of his job, and that's what he did. Good lord, it's not even like what he said was wrong. Tom Coughlin is a domineering ass, and Eli Manning doesn't have leadership skills. It amazes me how many people are so small-minded and stupid that they can't understand that. The Giants winning didn't make Tiki wrong, it simply reinforced the fact that locker room bullshit is far less significant than on-field execution.

Tiki said disruptive things. He said our guy outcoached his guy, he openly talked about why he was retiring...if anything, it reinforces the fact that having a good locker room can do wonders for player morale, and can HELP teams come together.

There's a difference between doing his job and selling his old team out to get headlines, IMO.

Have you thought about the fact that since he said they were outcoached last year that might have made Coughlin work harder to prepare this year, to prove he wouldn't be outcoached and outprepared. The Giants were much more prepared gameplan wise than the last couple of years. Don't forget that Tiki also told the Giants not to fire Coughlin even though he disagreed with his tactics in practice. He's an easy target, but in reality he spoke what he thought when he was asked after doing all he could for years when they didn't have as much talent.

BS, they had as much talent the past couple of yeas as they had this year. They probably had more last year with a healthy Shockey and Tiki still on the roster. It was addition by subtraction.

NBC asked him for his opinion on the Giants. That's what he was there for. And again, nothing he said about them was actually wrong, nor was it in any way offensive. Moreover, it isn't anything plenty of other people already said about that team.

Only a complete idiot would think that losing a talent like Tiki Barber would actually make a team better, which explains why you hold that opinion. The locker room stuff gets a lot of attention from fans because most fans are morons. What really matters is what happens on the field. Some teams really bond behind closed doors and some hate each others' guts. Both types have won Super Bowls because how you play matters a fuckload more than passion or chemistry or whatever idiotic concept fans obsess about.
