I wasn't predicting a a NY win, but I did have a small wager that they would cover the spread. I know the fullback for the Giants, so I was pulling for them and I knew they had a shot at winning just as anyone does. It seems the Pats are always in close super bowls and I just figured this would be another close game. I did have the final point total at 65, so I was way off on that part.

Either way Congrats to the Giants.

When the Pats won their first Super Bowl I was very happy for them, but over time Bellicheck and Co. have started to annoy me. The Pats were gracious the first couple of wins. A review of some of their play will reviel that they use the fact that it is the Super Bowl and they know that there usually aren't that many penalties called to get away with what appears to be overly aggressive play after the tackle as we have talked about on this forum. A couple of players have said and some insinuated that there are some dirty players on the Patriots Harrison and Seymore especially. Spy gate inst over yet with the accusation that a NE coach or a member of the front office claiming to have videoed the final walk through of the Rams before the Pats first SB win. I think the Pats have shown some flashes of classlessness especially with regard to the Chargers, but what galled me last night was the pure classlessness of Bill Bellicheck not waiting until the very end of the game to walk off. Too me the Pats have had a little bit of self entitlement towards this SB and for that reason alone I am very happy that we don't have to hear them talk about being the best team ever and how they are the only team to ever go 19-0. Fact is there are 3 teams that have gone 18-1 and they are the only one that didn't win the SB.

Maybe the Pats organization will do some introspective examination this off season and return to that state of being a great & humble team, but somehow I doubt it. Pure and simple the Pats believed in their own press. Even the normally humble Brady scoffed at the idea that they would only score 17 points when he was made aware of that prediction by Plaxico Burress. Brady's response....is Plax going to play defense? Well, I guess he didn't need too now did he?

One point that I haven't heard anyone on TV or radio mention and one that I found both interesting and one that might help the Giants is that both Coughlin and Bellickeck are Parcells guys and they are both defensive guys. Say what you want about Parcells, he knows talent and he wouldn't have had those two guys if they were good. I think that familiar back ground helped the Giants match up with the Pats maybe better than anyone thought they would. I know I expected the Pats to be able to handle the front 4 of the Giants and score some points. In the end we will never know how much that back ground had to do with the game, but I was surprised know one mentioned it at all.

Coughlin in an offesive guy. Other than head coach, he's always been a receivers coach, QB coach, or OC.

Thanks, I had it in my head that he was a defensive guy.
