    1. Trade Peppers if we can not get him to sign a reasonable deal or at least a stop gap deal that lessens his cap hit next year and gives us a year to evaluate him prior to his cashing in.

    2. Cut Hartwig, we drafted Kalil and Hartwig does not seem suited to play guard

    3. Trade or Cut Foster, he is slowing down and is not as good a back as DW

    4. Let Gross and Wharton both walk. Draft an OT in the first round and sign a top free agent even a guard perhaps. Bridges can play RT adequately if we have quality around him.

    5. Let Carter and Colbert walk. Sign a mid level free agent wide out.

    6. Keep Jenkins, even though he has some issues he is still a solid run stuffer.

    7. Cut Dan Morgan, he is done.

    8. Sign a free agent pass rusher like Terrell Suggs. You could play him in a situational role with Johnson and McClover.

    10. Trade one of our corners. We have three solid corners. If we could get some value for one of them, probably Lucas, then do it.

    11. Spend some money on a safety. Sign Eugene Wilson or Gbril Wilson or draft a guy on the first day like Decoud.

    12. Say good by to John Kasay, he can not kick off any more and it is not worth it to carry two kickers on the active roster.

    13. Stay with Rhyne Robinson as our return specialist for another year. He sucked most of last year but came on towards the end.

    14. Let Hoover go and bring in a real lead blocker. Owen Schmitt looks like a good candidate in the draft for this role.

most of these aren't really controversial. Fair enough though, it's another list thread.

hai guyz, thelt is skeered to give Peppers a big contract, for fear he contracted HIV from being near David Carr on the practice field. (no, he didn't get close to him from pass rushing)

that one's unpopular, and Thelt's having it grow in both it's popularity by being the one pushing it, and by everyone else reading it, growing in its unpopularity too.

Bridges at RT would be unpopular. And awful. It's entirely possible we go into camp with Hangartner at RG, which would certainly not be fun, but that wasn't mentioned.

Most of these, the controversial/unpopular thing would actually be the opposite of what's listed. Bringing Carter and Colbert back would certainly not be smart, and same with Morgan. I don't know if I've seen the groundswell of support for Foster anywhere.

The thing that's bugging me a fair bit is it looks like this is just a summation of various things culled from other threads.

OK, regardless of whether or not these things are or are not popular or contraversial....what items do we see as something the Panthers are planning to do this year.

Cut Morgan would be #1 to me, and I love the way he plays when healthy, but it is a a couple seasons beyond when this should have happened.

I wouldn't be surprised if Morgan is still on the roster for Week 1 '08. I don't have that big of a problem with it assuming the reports that his pay is tied to staying healthy are true. The truly controversial move would be to start him in the middle and move Beason back outside.

I just noticed #8. Pay a 4 year starter for a situational role?
