They had a nice show last night about your Patriots on MSNBC. It was about how he bought the stadium before the team and built it into what we have now. Pretty interesting. They will retelecast it tonight at 9

I have read a lot about Kraft. His business sense and decision making turned the Patriots around from an NFL afterthought into one of the NFL's most recognized brands. He made some mistakes on the football side of things but it turns out that his best decision of all was bringing Belichick in to be his coach.

Patriots fans should be eternally grateful to Kraft. Without him there was a good chance that the team would have moved.

I didn't realize Kraft had to give up a 1st rounder to get Belichick. Based upon his Cleveland record, why?

gave up a couple picks. Very risky. Of course, he got a lot of the staff with him, namely Weis.

It was based upon his relationship he had built with BB when he was there as DC. Kraft says that one of his worst decisions was hiring Pete Carroll instead of BB when Parcells left.

    Bob Kraft's no Victor Kiam.

But seriously, Carroll wasn't that bad there.

never finished under .500, won one division. 1-2 in the playoffs isn't great, but compared to the two guys around him, those are tough acts to be between, which is why he got fired in the first place. Compare it to Rich Kotite, who replaced him in NY, and you see that he obviously had some things going right. Given the way people bag on Fox for being under .500 two years in a row, 33-31 isn't so bad.

also, let's not forget if Kraft hadn't strongarmed Parcells in the first place, the whole group - Parcells, Weis, Bellichick, Crennel, Mangini, wouldn't have gone anywhere.

He also didn't have a choice with the Jets and Bellichick the first time - the Jets hired Bellichick and Parcells was a "senior advisor". It wasn't until the deal brokered by Tagliabue that Parcells was officially put out there as a head coach, at which time BB was already under contract as a Jet.

Kudos to making the tough choice and getting Bellichick, but he had the whole deal and wouldn't have had to make changes if he and Parcells had seen eye to eye in the first place.

I guess I don't remember things the way they were because I have always been a little mystified as to why Caroll was ever fired. I thought he did a very good job.

You think no other team would have gotten Parcells eventually?
