yeah, there's no way that has any credibility. Of course, it's coming from a former player who likes to say things to get attention.

Holt's got 2 years left on a 7yr., 42 millions dollar deal. He's set to make 2008: $5,650,000, 2009: $6,650,000, 2010: Free Agent. There's been questions about his knees and not getting along with his coach. Maybe it's time for him to cash out and be that 2nd vet WR the panthers.

I agree it'd take more than maybe just Jenks to get him but if he really wanted out of St. Louis I'd love for us to really go after him. Knowing the panthers we'll just resign Colbert for vet min when somebody pays Carter more than we ever would.

Yeah, Jenkins is only the best DT on the team with a lot of football still left in him...no big deal.:freak: Let's go ahead and trade him for a WR with about 2 years left in him at the most.

Do you really think a DT who is not even a year younger, out of shape and has shown no commitment to any offseason program is going to last longer than a WR who is known for taking care of himself and a dedicated student of the game? Don't forget the fact that DTs take way more pounding than any wide receiver ever has. Jenkins massive ass must be blocking your vision when Johnson is playing. :moon:

I was responding to the idea of trading Jenkins for Torry Holt...I don't see the Panthers trading ANYBODY or any draft pick for Chad Johnson, so I've already put that out of my mind, although you never know I guess.

BTW, I couldn't care less about what happens with the off season conditioning program...Jenkins came into camp in shape and ready to go and he gives it 100% everytime he steps on the field. I see him constantly getting penetration into the opponent's back field, only to have the RB run around him because there is a hole one either side. I'll say it again, Kris Jenkins is the best interior D-lineman on this team, and it's not even a close race. I would like to see him play a little lighter, but he gets the job done.

He would be the best DT on a lot of other teams too. Honestly though, I wouldn't be surprised if they shop him again, but I also think the Panthers will have to be offered a deal they just can't pass up, or they won't go through with it...John Fox knows damn well how valuable a good DT is in this league.

The team seems to be up for it. If they want to trade him and the Rams offer you Holt (contract issues aside) I think you take it.

Of course I'm assuming this is a hypothetical situation.
