I agree they all thought he was better (hell, we all did). I just wonder how they didn't see it in camp...that he couldn't read defenses. Did they really let the Defense test him, or just run through the drills?? I know game situations are impossible to re-create, but it just seems that he would have shown some of that deer in the headlights stuff in camp. Maybe not...but it's hard to fathom that he could come out and really be that ineffective without someone seeing a hint of it in camp.

His numbers don't look horrible, we just don't get that 3 or 4 yards when we really need it. Still a lot of 3rd and long. Maybe O-line is just shitty at opening the holes.

I would like to see them bring in a veteran but I want to keep Moore on the roster. He has shown enough to merit our continuing to develop him, IMHO. Bring in a vet to compete with Moore and Bas for a roster spot.

It seems possible that Matt Ryan drops to our pick. If he does, do we take him or is picking up a 1st round tackle to important?

Or, if it's a good draft for tackles, trade the pick to somebody who really wants Ryan bad.

that's a lot of QBs. Agree that Moore still has to earn it, he can't be called the unequivocal #2. But, what we have including Basanez and adding one veteran would probably be enough.

Woodson wouldn't kill me, but I'd much rather have another position. Ryan is hyped because of his height and arm strength, but I don't think he's a great prospect or in any way first round worthy.

And I can't believe people are bringing up Harrington. Good lord, some of you are in a ridiculous amount of denial. No veteran QB would change the fact that we had no legitimate secondary receiver (because we cut Keyshawn), suspect pass protection (if you think Carr was bad about taking sacks, just watch a Harrington game), an anemic rush offense, or questionable play-calling. We were already in dire straits before Delhomme went down, and I don't have a lot of hope that it will change even if he is somehow completely healthy for next season.

The best thing we can do is get our offensive linemen in the weight room and run the shit out of the ball next year regardless of who lines up behind center.

Not bringing up harrington b/c he'sgood, but because he's an availble veteran with experience who will take a backseat ( 3rd seat. )

What other vets will be available to be #3? I don't think Pennington would. Brad Johnson is under contract. Testaverde is 90 years old.

    Leftwich LOL? Redman LOL?

    Huard maybe?

No doubt. A Qb's best friend is a running game and our backs are not the problem there. No scheme will magically enable a weak OL to push past the LOS, that takes strength, technique and toughness. We don't have enough and haven't for years.

I'd hate it if we took a Qb anywhere in the draft this year.
