I don't see how anybody can say Peppers won't be missed...he can still play the run well and he's made some big FG blocks this season...sacks aren't everything.

If he were getting pressure consistently but just not getting the sacks then no one would have a problem with him. If he were getting double teamed every play then fine but basically he is getting beaten by the other team's OT.

He hasnt been playing the run well this year that Ive seen. One OL has usually pushed him whereever. The play goes right by him, and he doesnt seem to make an effort to get to him.

Carolina Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers, who did not practice all week because of a sprained knee, is listed as doubtful on the injury report for Saturday's game versus Dallas. Peppers suffered the injury in the first half of last week's game versus Seattle. He returned to the contest but was not able to finish. In 14 starts this season, Peppers leads all Carolina defensive linemen with 55 tackles in addition to recording three sacks, 19 quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception, three passes defensed and two blocked kicks.
If Peppers does not play, it would end his streak of 78 consecutive starts, which ties tackle Jordan Gross for the longest streak among active Panthers. Possible replacements for Peppers would include second-year defensive end Stanley McClover and rookie defensive end Charles Johnson.

I think we should play the second and third string the rest of the year and see what shakes out. Start cutting for next year.
