He works too much to paint. And, he is not pussy-whipped. Just an awesome husband.

I have no doubt in my mind that he's an awesome husband to you. doesn't mean he isn't whipped.

works too much to paint? what's he work, 15-hour days, seven days a week? you're young, you have the time and energy. Paint the fucking house. It will add character to your home and strengthen your relationship.

better yet, maybe you could surprise him by painting it yourself, while he's slaving away in the salt mines. Look, he knows you're sitting home all day doing jack -- feeding the baby occasionally, but mostly eating and watching soaps, or posting on TBR, while the kid naps. It's gotta be eating away at him. Imagine his surprise if he comes home to find you've knocked off a room or three.

Or, you could pay someone to do a task that 99 percent of young homeowners like you do themselves. Yeah, that'll make him really happy, knowing that if not for his lazy ass wife, he could be banking that cash.

If he lets you get away with this shit, then yes, he a pussy-whipped ************.

I think I like you twice as much as I did before I read this post...which still isn't a whole lot.

just to give Sheltie a little perspective here

I too work many hours and often don't have time (or the skills) to do a lot of home repairs/improvements.

But my wonderful wife (fancypants) in between her massage therapy business and taking care of SIX children has found the time over the last 18 months to :

remove wall paper from two bathrooms and paint them

Painted three bedrooms (including decorations in the kids rooms).

Built a bed for the six year old.

    Painted the foyer/hallway.

paint two newly constructed bedrooms and painted a floor in one (on concrete) and installed a floor in the other.

    painted her massage room

painted our den, including the bookcase. (this was painting over panelling so this was two coats of primer, two coats of paint)

removed carpet (and vinyl) from our kitchen, carpet from our den and a crappy wood floor from our foyer/hallway.

Put down new flooring in all three rooms.

Refinished our kitchen cabinets - a LOT of cabinets. They had to have trim removed, wood putty and sanded to repair the laminate, primed two coats and painted, paint all the hardware and reinstalled all the doors. (It's really hard to describe how much work this was).

Painted the entire kitchen, trim, doors, walls.

    and I'm sure theres more.

Yes I did help her but she did way more than most of it. She has a knack for this kind of stuff and loves doing it. How she manages to do all that, manage her business, run most of the errands, take care of the kids and most importantly take care of me, treating me like a king is mind boggling.

I married an angel, an angel that knows how to use a skil saw at that.

    damn I'm a lucky man.

Guess what I'm trying to say sheltie, is if my wife can do all that - surely you can paint a room or two.
