    mocking this constitutes football talk

in all seriousness I get what's going on here, I just don't put much importance into it. After the year's over, and we know where the pick is - which is probably going to be in the 10-14 range - that's one less variable, but there's still a long way to go and I'd expect there's a lot to happen before that. Things that would be more important to the pick than whether the Ravens win.

I guess I find it mildly interesting. I still can't believe anyone cares enough to track.

I am more interested in who will get cut from this team after the season and how much dead money we have to carry

free agents are much more relevant, especially because people worrying about this are making 100% need picks and then expecting those players to fill those roles.

Whether Fox does stay would make a pretty big difference as well, since a new coach is much more likely to accelerate turnover. Fox was actually very lenient in doing so, but I don't expect a new coach would be as willing, so that would change our needs drastically.

The thing that worries me about fixing the offensive problems is that the positions of need OT, QB, WR and RG are spots that tend to have longer learning curves than some of the more instinctive positions. These guys aren't going to be able to do their usual bargain shopping for free agents.

crappy thing is, even if we go 0-3 (likely) we probably won't move up any higher that 8th.....our strength of schedule will finish wicked high and I don't see any of the 3-10 teams going 0-3.

Cincy will prolly go 2-1 and move up past us....Balt wil likely get a win over Miami.....

    makes us 8th.

Our offense needs to go with a WCO guy at the helm or our offensive line needs to be blown up and rebuilt to suit a ball control style. I am not sure how well Jake would handle the WCO but it tends to be QB friendly. Jake is not super mobile though and roll outs are a staple of the WCO.

With that in mind, drafting an OL high is import to a rebuilding effort on the OL. If we did go WCO we could get by with what we have although that would mean resigning some guys who are going to be free agents.

The way things look right now I am considering guys like: Clady, Cherilus, Baker and Otah. Jake Long will be long gone by our pick even if we do get up to 6 or 7.
