Concord was here 2 centuries before his pompous ass showed up. I`m fairly sure it would be just fine.

 

yeah whatever... i been here just as long... the speedway is a really big part of Concords economy.. along with the Concord Mills Mall i think Bruton helped finance to get here...

you can bitch and moan all ya want.. the speedway isnt going anywhere and thats fine by everyone except a small handful of small minded thinkers...

 

I`m glad everyone but us small minded thinkers has a spokes person. What do you think the effect would be if he left? What effect would it have on the city and county budget? What would be the end result in dollars for the average Cabarrus county citizen?
What does it matter to you if it stays or leaves? Are you a resident near the speedway or can you see the speedway from your house? Can you hear the races when they`re going?
Have you profited from the speedway being there? Are you a business owner who has a stake in the tourist traffic?
This small minded thinker, who thinks Concord has gotten too big, wants to see some hard numbers on what the average citizen would have to pay extra if that windbag were to leave.
You mentioned he might have helped finance Concord Mills. So what? He wouldn`t have unless he thought he could have profited from it.

The numbers have been published numerous times .. and if he did and it didnt cost you anything it may cause you to lose some county and city benefits..
and yes i am close to the track.. i can hear the sounds.. i have no problem with it..
and for years i did benefit and profit from the race weeks. i dont have any ties with the speedway now and i doubt i will in the future.
But i have no problem with people investing into some business that will earn them money from people coming to the races each year.
I think thats why we live in this country... to be allowed to do such..
he could always move the speedway and that property could be made into a much larger landfill ..
did you hollar about the city and county giving phillip morris concessions to build here ? or any other factor or business?
what about the money that its gona cost once phillip morris has actually gone.. thats more tax revenue.. whos gona make it up ?

What benefits would we lose and I`ve never seen those many times published numbers?
Did I yell when PM came in? No. Did PM offer a wage at 3 times the average in Cabarrus county with super bennies to a couple thousand people?
I think there are already many suitors to the prime PM land. Would you be willing to give concessions to a auto maker who wanted to convert that plant? Hell yeah.
Big bawling baby Bruton can packup the damn track and move it straight to hell for I care. I`d be willing to pay extra to get rid of it. What would it mean? Less hotels and chain restautrants?
Besides what cities and counties don`t need a landfill?
