And how even without smitty, we were competitive in 2004. And Moose had a career year.

Thanks for making my point for me there Colon. I am sure almost everyone would take a 316 yard 3 TD performance from out quarterback every game.

I think Colin's citing the loss, not Jake's play (though he did throw one horrible INT, and two of his TD's were Smitty being a freak.

Again, this is indicative as to HOW FAR the Panthers have fallen when anyone can EVEN CONSIDER Jake Delhomme as the best player on this team. Whatever has happened to the talent level on this team,,, it has gone to hell.

Jake is a better than ok quarterback, but he's always clearly been the target of questions because of his inconsistent play. To see threads like this, is a joke. Maybe a sad reality, but still a joke nonetheless. Goes to show how much we suck now.

FWIW, I didn't say he was the best, I said he was the most difficult to replace.

I'd say the same thing about any top 15 QB in the league right now. The reason I'd say it is obvious.

Meatpile,,,, I agree with that,,,, sorry, I wasn't going to take the time and read 3 pages of bullshit about Jake supposedly being the best player on the team,,,, I simply based my response on the title of this thread.

Lots of people thought that you could plug just anyone into our offense and let them throw the ball to Smith. That gave Jake no credit for the success we have had. Well those people were dead wrong. Effective QBs are not a dime a dozen!
