That was the best looking thing we have done on offense in a long time. Why can't we replicate that?

new orleans was tied with indy 10-10 at the half. indy's coaching staff knows how to make adjustments and they take over the game. (unfortunately, i think that will be their downfall this weekend against the patriots). i don't think it mattered who carolina's qb was in the second half, it was indy's ballgame

Because it would be too much of a good thing.

since no team had done it in a certain span of, what, years? I don't know if it's realistic to do that against everyone.

I do really like it when we script plays- we tend to look much less boring, and tend to do things I like a good deal more. I still want to see some receiver or TE combo routes more often, but either way we did some things first half of Indy that certainly looked more advanced than some of the other things we've been running, and certainly different from what we'd done in the past.

I do not mean "why can't we have more 11 minute drives". If you look at that drive we ran the ball well, spread it around well and still got it to Smith. Vinny seemed to be making good reads and looked comfortable. After that drive though it all seemed to fall apart.

When we are getting the ball to Colbert and King regularly then Smith is going to have a much easier time getting open and making some big plays.

you see that alot of times. teams score on opening drives then the other side makes adjustments. its a chess match of sorts. those who think ahead or counter the best earn their money. game planing for all possibilities is at a premium. there is coaching and then there is "coaching." indy got it goin' on too. better than most.

I guess but it is hard to see how a coaching adjustment could go from allowing an 18 play 11 minute touchdown drive to a shutout the rest of the game.

that was a helluva drive too. had they been able to capitalize on some other opportunities early on instead of turning the ball over, things would have been tighter for indy.

It seemed like the play calling had Indy confused and guessing at what we would do next. Maybe after Vinny threw that pick in the end zone it made them go conservative.

I like how we motioned Smith into the backfield and then leaked him out on a swing pass. I think magnus is right, as we didn't see anything that inventive after the first drive.
