    its by the dirt track , which is probably louder than the drag strip would be. i know of one little neighborhood by the pavillion. noisy area all around

    He pretty much holds the power. Concord doesn't want to see all that tax money and tourist money go away. He knows this.

    Concord would be ok if he left. He'd be ok if he left. But it would be stupid as hell of him to spend $350 million dollars just because he didn't feel like getting some noise study done.

    I haven't heard anybody from the city of Concord or even the residents of the neighborhood say they don't want him to build the dragstrip, just that they want him to take some steps to reduce the noise level. If he's going to leave for that...we'll he just dumb then.

    charlottle annexing into Cabarrus County...the track is actually in Harrisburg or was??

    Years and years ago, I think most AP/UPI headlines had Harrisburg, NC as the location of the track, but it wasn't located in their actual city limits. I think he had issues with getting a beer/liquir license for the track from them, which is why he pushed to get Concord to annex him. Hmmmmmm, I always thought the track was in Cabbarus Co. (unless the county line with Meck. Co. was moved at some point)

    it was never in Mecklenburg co..

    it was originally in Harrisburg and then it was annexed into Concord..
