    Nope, I don't like the thought of having more than half the salary cap tied up in 5-6 players while the rest of the roster is as thin as Kate Moss on a heroin binge.

    The guy is one of the top 3 GMs in the league. Actually I put him right behind the Pioli and Belichek combination.

    I'd be curious to see how the Panthers cap mix will look when they give Peppers a new deal.

    He is an awful, awful GM. He has completely mismanaged the Colts' cap, and it was complete luck that they won a Superbowl last season. One move after another (Corey Simon for huge bucks, etc) has fallen flat, but they've succeeded in spite of him because Manning and Harrison are so great. Now obviously some are going to give him credit for picking Manning over Leaf, but the only people who favored Leaf were clueless to begin with.

    Look at it this way. If not for that fluke win, Polian would have gone down in history as having squandered one of the greatest collections of offensive resources of all-time. Indy's window was closing in a hurry, and he got incredibly lucky to win a Superbowl when his terrible decisions had left the defense so bereft of talent that they actually ended up being the worst run defense of all-time.
