Okay I'll buy that. It's not the "reading" but the "reacting" part of the "read and react" job of a QB. That being the case I definitely would point to confidence as the culprit.

    (good analogy btw)

Agreesome. However, I've read quotes that say McCoy is working closely with Davidson on developing scheme, and Carr seems impressed. But not that any of that is a rock-solid endorsement. It is a little encouraging, though, at least to me.

Once he had a viable backup plan, how long did he give Rodney Peete?

Peete was just a stopgap. Delhomme is someone that Fox has hand-picked, like Stephen Davis.

I realize that you're a little slow, grid, but as explained in the above analogy, the problem isn't the speed at which Carr reads the defenses but rather how long he continues to read them.

In other words, without all the fluff, He can't make a decision and chokes up under pressure. Which is not good.

so he's re-reading them, over and over again, as if he can't believe what he just saw? did you put that in your pamphlet?

Carr's kind of a fixer-upper from what I've read. It's pretty well documented that he has trouble with reading defenses. The question you have to ask is whether the problem lies within him or if it was just the crappy coaching he got from Capers and company. For our sake, I'm hoping for the second option there.

One thing that comes through loud and clear when he's interviewed these days, he's happy to be in Charlotte. That's a positive. With the right mindset, this scenario could be just what he needs.
