My monitor finally kicked the bucket after 6.5 years and I had to go get a new one. 19" widescreen with 3000:1 contrast, 1440 X 900 resolution and 2ms refresh. It ROCKS!!!

Only bad thing is that it makes the monitor on the other PC that sits right next to it look like shit.

    my new one:

Apple Cinema HD Display (23" flat panel)

The Apple Cinema HD is a stunning, all-digital, 23-inch flat panel display with 1920-by-1200-pixel resolution - enough to view high-definition (HD) content with room to spare.

I've always said displays are the only PC technology worth spending money on. You use every bit of them, they last a long time before being outdated, and they're sexy :).

Got a Dell 2407WFP (24" LCD) and a Dell 2000FP (4+ years old) for my main PC displays. The replace a huge 21" CRT I had for 7+ years before that. Each time I spent over $500, but that's all I've had in 12+ years of innumerable PC's... meanwhile you can spend $500 on a video card and have it be outdated in < 12 months...

Dual, of course :). Once you've had 2, you'll never got back to 1.

I asked because I plan on getting a new PC in August with the 24 inch Dell. Ialready have a 19 inch Dell Ultra sharp, but I've been debating whether to use those 2 dual or just the one. I was gonna let me wife who uses a no name 19 inch monitor have the Dell 19. Her current is pretty good, but it's not quite what this 19 inch ultasharp FP is. So I don't want to use her current as my dual.

So true! Especially if you get into programming or image editing. Put all of your tools and tool bars and other editing windows on one monitor and use the other one for working in. It won't be long before I have an actual office in the house instead of a corner of a room. There's another monitor in my future.
