All of those could come in time. The NFL wasn't made into what it is now overnight. It's kinda laughable to assume every new league will instantly have to have those. There's nothing wrong with toiling in shit for a few seasons as you build things up.

The best way to compete for NFL players would be to have a stable consistent league, not a flash in the pan one season thing.

Wrong. The best way to compete for the best talent is the big bucks. Money talks, bullshit walks. Look at the Panthers for instance. They pay scrubs million-dollar plus per year deals. Where does the money come from? 100 million+ a year from TV-radio deals. They have a 100 million dollar naming rights deal at their stadium from BofA. The get millions and millions from their corporate sponsors. Last AND least, they sell all their tickets normally and make a shitload off of concessions and PSL's. Ticket and concessions would be no where near enough to keep paying salaries at the NFL level without all the other goodies. If an upstart league does not have these goodies besides ticket sales, they are doomed.

The best way to lose your ass is to hand out truck loads of money and build HUGE stadiums.
If this league has a chance in hell, it will need to pay third tier players like third tier players. The pay scales should land between the NFL and AFL for players and coaches. Player salaries would average in the area of a practice squad player in the NFL or slightly more...without comparing the actual difference between the NFL and AFL pay scales, but I know AFL players don't make much.
The stadiums should aspire to seat 20-30 thousand to start and owners should have enough land purchased and stadium designs suitable for addition in the future. If they don't learn from the past they'll perish in the future.:flameme:

They might have two good RBs soon between Ricky Williams and Vick. :sifone:

While the NFL cleans up it's image, this league could develop something. However, they better not get cocky like the USFL did.

They should use a red, white, and blue ball.

they should start out trying to compete with NFLE and the CFL first off and try to build the league to compete with the NFL after a few years. Going head to head with the big boys out of the gate is what killed the WFL and USFL. Create a market, build it, sustain it in that order. The one thing McMahon did with the XFL that I liked was to install a pay scale for his players. His mistake was concentrating too much on the extras-scantily clad cheerleaders and hooks to other entertainment venues-instead of the quality of play is what sunk the ship for him. Concentrate on football and not glitz and you can produce a product that'll get fans in the stands and keep them there.

I think this is a roundabout way for Cuban & Co. to convince the NFL for to drop this idea by giving them the LA/SoCal Expansion Franchise (if the league ever decides to return to the LA market). I keep hearing about a possible plan to put a NFL stadium in the Dodger Stadium parking lot, which makes sense (tons of parking are already available there).

when it comes to the LA market think relocation as opposed to expansion. That and the time it took for the league to get to a balanced schedule make expansion unlikely for the near future.
