Peppers and Smith get statues if they stay at their current level for a couple of more years. I can see Minter, Kasey, Rucker and Delhomme getting their names in the ring of honor, but no statues.

I have no doubt about Peppers getting a statue (if they ever lose him, they are stupid and I am immediately then a Seahawks fan :disappointed:), but for some reason, I have this feeling that Steve Smith will play for another team before his career is done.

So Kasey gets his, Minter is borderline, and Peppers is the next sure thing. SS? 60/40 no.

Smith and Peppers are the only two who I consider worthy/to be worthy at the end of their careers. This is a statue, not a participation certificate.

It depends on what the statue is meant to represent. Mills, for instance, got a statue as an ideal, not for his exploits on the field. It was the Richardson's way of exemplifying the ideal Panther.

So, the question is, should a statue represent excellence on the field or how a player conducts themselves overall. If it's excellence on the field, then we may have to wait quite a while before we see another statue built. However, if its about character, loyalty, and teamwork, then Minter, Rucker, and Kasay all should receive serious consideration.

IMO, it should be, and most likely is, a combination. Both long-time Panther's who reached great heights on the field and those who conducted themselves with the highest level of personal integrity and community involvement should be considered for the honor.

    I forgot Peppers. LOL

I was thinking the Ring and statue weren't seperate honors. If you get in the Ring you get a statue.

I'm not ready to give Smith or Peppers anything yet. Extrapolate Smith's 2005 performance and yes or the first half of Peppers 06. I can't see both unless they start cranking out some championships and MVPs.
