    Jenkins is here
Submitted by Darin on Fri, 2007-05-04 10:46.
The Panthers walked on the field just before 10 o'clock Friday morning and DT
Kris Jenkins was in fact here. He looked to be in the kind of shape he is
    every year about this time.

Check in later for more on this story.

Says quite a bit about that vaunted conditioning program at Maryland. :39:

That is what I was afraid of. Doesn't he always report heavy?

It seems that people are expecting him to look like a body builder and if he doesn't, they assume that means he's out of shape. All I care about is if he can play football or not.

no one is expecting him to show up looking like Arnold in his prime, we just get tired of him showing up looking like Jabba the Hut in his.

The only thing that matters is that he's healthy and ready to play football.

40lbs over weight isn't healthy. His ideal playing weight as I've said is around 335-345, and anything over is risky considering his had an injury history. Furthermore he's starting to get old. He won't just be able to work it off as easy over the summer because his metabolism is slowing. He needs to work HARDER to stay on top of it. THAT'S why they want him to show up for workouts.

I don't think anyone reported that he's 380 at all.

Ideally he's 320. He can play at 330 and that's more than fine.

Exactly, he's always going to look big. He's a defensive tackle. There's a whole lot of DT's showing up for mini camps right now that look big.
