    Great Fn Key answer!!!

For those that may want to clean theirs....the rubber contact pad and the surface pads are the culprits most of the time. (clean both of them with alcohol. gently- the carbon composite on the rubber contact is not that thick) don't try to rub it away. Just a gentle swipe with q-tip/alcohol or medical prep pads.

That site that was mentioned is great for the older models. But the new Chicony keyboards are a b*tch to clean. The little teflon scissor assembly (2 small parts that unfolds like an ironing board) are a headache to put back together with the keys. Don't get discouraged, but only if the keyboard is on it's last leg.

    When cleaning:
Make sure the keyboard is removed from laptop. (especially if using liquids)
Be careful of cleaners used. many leave residue behind.
I typically use denatured alcohol. It evaporates and leaves no water behind.
    but very flammable

The metal clips on the four corners hold the teflon/nylon assembly - use a gentle touch - they tend to break the scissor assembly. So if you have to do it, be patient and be sure to remember the layout of they Keyboard. (or take a picture)

    Hope that helps
