Carr would not be battling Weinkie. Weinkie would be gone. Carr would be the clear number two QB. I think if they did bring him in it would be to not only be a good backup but to push Jake. I doubt it happens. I think media sources have more problems with Jake than Fox does.

I think we may look to replace Weinkie since he was so awful. That is more likely to be a journeyman type guy though like a Kelly Holcomb or Brad Johnson..

I'd easily give a 3rd plus Weinke for Carr, and then I would draft Quinn and let the competition begin.

They would probably prefer a 3rd and no Weinkie.

In the right system I still think Carr could be good. Not being behind the swiss-cheese line would help greatly I'm sure.

Completed 68% of his passes last year to lead the league. Tough kid who is young and still has some good football in front of him. He is only 27 (which is a year younger than Jake was when he started here) I think he would do well here. He could use a bit of Jake's down field gambler, and Jake could use some of his dump of completer. Would be a perfect backup, with a future, and would be well worth a 3rd.

That would cost more money than we have. We don't need 3 QB's getting paid out of the ass.

Our scheme would be a lot better fit for Carr than Houston's will be under Kubiak. I still believe he can be an upper eschelon (sp?) QB, but I can't quite agree he's worth gambling a 3rd round pick.
