I would imagin the players especially the guys who are older and running out of opportunities are pretty hot about this. Shotsy has his issues, but clearly the guy is a good coach and this team is on the verge of getting it done.

M, Carroll might get total control if Spanos decides to get rid of both his quarreling children.

S, the issue was not who left, although that brought about the next thing. The issue was arguing about who would replace them. PFT says a reader sent some SPECULATION that MS wanted to bring in his brother. I could see how Smith wouldnt want that, but I would still let the coach do it. If he doesn't perform, fire both of them. The brother is a legit assistant.

I don't know why Pete Carroll would want to give up such a great situation at USC.

Anyone catch the Schottenheimer interview this morning on WFNZ? (It seems his daughter's family lives up in Mooresville.) He was still in San Diego, but I guess they tracked him down through his Daughter.)

Long story short, he said he doesn't know where the animosity with the GM came from.

They asked him if he had any interest in coaching UNC football, (They said that UNC made a run for him some time ago.) He said not right now. (Could you imagine Schottenheimer coaching UNC and Cowher coaching NC State! (Be like the old days of Dean Smith and Jimmy V!)

he likely wouldn't do that until after the draft, and I don't know if that's enough stability and guarantee for PC.

yeah, he's not terrible. Brian's not bad either. Not as good as Cameron or Phillips, but each were very good hires.

    I seriously doubt he would.

    Hmm... :newsmile54:

The only flaw I see with that is that I seriously doubt Parcells would be willing to work under a GM.

I bet Norv Turner would do a good job out there. He does well when he has a stud running back to work with. He would probably love to play the Raiders twice per season too.
