    in the interest of fairness, martin earned that ride by slugging it out back then, and Jr had more advantages....still, the competition is still the same--tough.

    huh ? who did mark martin slug it out with to get that ride ?

    who has kasay kahne slugged it out with to get his ride ?

    and a whole slew of recent drivers ?

    isnt it a parents right to give their children the best ... and besides i think kerry and dale jr built their first race cars .... and Jr did drive in gokarts and legend cars ...

    I think it was the '97 busch race at Charlotte and Jr had the Wrangler sponsorship. He was running a partial schedule. Anyway, he wadded the car up in practice and wanted to "buy" a ride so he could get some time in and to make the sponsor happy. Diddy told him to hell with that and to go fix the car he trashed. Sure, Jr had some advantages but he sure worked his ass off, too.

    Solarte, ask him sometime about how much he got paid to drive for his dad in '98? I think he made more changing oil at the Chevy dealership.
