Roundup for brush will kill the ivy. Be careful that you don't spray any on the tree because it will kill the tree, even through the bark.. Roundup is neutralized when it hits soil. Once it is dry, you can plant, really. Other chems don't have the quality that Roundup has.

Taking another look at it, I think I will have to leave the Ivy. Whoever planted it realized that the dirt was washing down the slope and under the deck.

    OK

You look like a 6-foot condom filled with tapioca with a lazy eye.

Give it to me, I killed the two ivy plants in my bathroom, one of those impossible popular ivy plants that everyone seems to keep in their offices or kitchen, and 2 cactus recently, apparently I can kill anything.

Seriously though, just give me some before you kill it, I need it for that hill in the side of my house. Maybe if I leave it outside and don't touch it, it'll survive. ;)

Spray it all with bleach is my best offering, but that's not an herbicide...

There's about 1/4 acre's worth. I'll dig some up if/when I get in the house and bring you a truck load.
