We need to add a wide out in the draft. Keyshawn is long in the tooth and his skills will continue to decline. Colbert needs to be working at a McDonalds somewhere. Carter is a decent deep threat but I do not see him ever being more than a number three.

I think we have other needs that are more pressing like linebacker and safety but hopefully we can find a guy in the third or fourth that can add depth in 2007 and start in '08 or '09. Do any of you draft experts see anyone that we could add in that range that is talented enough to be a long term compliment to Smith?

John Lee Higgins from UTEP. He's closer to a Steve Smith type than a Keyshawn as far as build and play style. He's a pretty good return guy also.

mid-rounds would be fine - 3rd-4th round guy with a little quickness and some good speed, but not often do you get a guy like that who can also become a starter down the line.

I do worry about losing Carter in RFA (or putting him up for first round compensation, either way). I don't know that Carter would be an above average starter, but if we could lock him down at a decent price, I would. He's got a lot of skill.

There's Chansi Stuckey (a prime candidate for becoming one of the hyphen named guys), a good returner and average receiver.

Johnnie Lee Higgins wouldn't be a bad 3rd-4th guy; he'll run a killer 40 soon, and he's got return ability. The downside is he's small, and moreso, frail. Smallness doesn't bother me there, but combined with a lack of shoulder/chest height and injuries, and there's a concern. He's also not technically sound.

Paul Williams has the size down, and retains the athletcism, but lacks some of the motivation and has never been a standout.

Great hands...killer vertical. He's not fast, but not slow either. And he's not a bad blocker either. He'll be a good one.
