Rucker's knee, no new news. Carter ankle, Byrum also hurt.

    (how the team did)
obviously not very good, we're just not a very good FB team right now, in spurts we played alright, we're just not playing very well.
In particular, offensively there were a few runs in the 2nd half that we weren't able to establish and we didn't protect well either. Defensively there were some good spots.

Wahle dinged his shoulder, we had to hold him out.

    (offensive problems?)
a combination of everything (wrong), we had a new starter at LG, we've been dealing with that situation all year, we didn't execute.
we're not the same team we started the season with, but we're not the only team going through that. It's not an excuse it's just reality.

(if Jake had played his last game as a Panther?)

There's no validity to that statement. If it came from anywhere, it didn't come from this building.

There were guys out there who were working hard, we just weren't playing very well. We'll block the wrong guy in protection, not roll as well as we need to, we just need to find a way to get better.

Weinke's performance - without going on a play by play or dissecting it, we put 3 points on the board. Offensively we just weren't playing very well. Weinke will be the leading candidate to start this week, depending on what happens with (Delhomme), despite 'that report".

don't know if the team will publish postgame or not.

This is the gist of what's being said. It wasn't altered.

they say it comes on NFL.net, and if you don't have satellite (I don't), it's on Time Warner News 14. It doesn't play on a specific time, it's just whenever Fox nears the press conference table, they cut to sports and the sportscaster kills time till Fox enters.

Fox wasn't animated. He was disappointed, even keeled, downtrodden maybe. Not much different than other wins or losses.

    HEAD COACH JOHN FOX

On the game: We are just not a very good football team right now. It showed today. In spurts we played alright. I don’t think it’s a matter of guys giving up, I just think that we’re not very good right now.

On the team: Offensively, we had a couple of runs to start the second half, but we never established much in the run game. We didn’t protect very well either. Defensively was spotty but we did okay at times, but at the end of the day it wasn’t good enough. I thought third down was critical as far as the points. A punt blocked, turnovers and a punt return returned can make your defense not look very good.

On the running game: We had another new starter in there today at the left guard position. We haven’t really been able to get that established all season.

On the team’s record: We are not the same team we started the season with, but we aren’t the only team in the league going through that. It’s not an excuse. It’s reality.

On next week’s game at Atlanta: We are going to change things up as far as what we’re doing and who we’re doing it with. We need to find answers. I haven’t seen the tape yet. I thought there were guys out there working out. Overall we’re not playing very well. We need to find a way to get better.

On quarterback Chris Weinke’s performance: We put three points on the board, so offensively in general we didn’t play well enough.
