i don't see how lcd is better than plasma, so why does it cost more?

That's the dealio. The prices drop too fast to pay extra. Buy the cheaper one, even if you think it's only 99% as good. In a year, with the money you save, you can buy the other one as well... I'm almost 2 years into my plasma and you can buy one the same size with newer features for half the price now...save and spend it later, especially if you're AT ALL tight on cash...

Buy the no-name plazma at walmart... by the time it burns out, the good stuff will cost as much as the walmart brand, and by then you will probably be looking for something even better than that. I love my 42" plazma I got at walmart. Unfortunately, you can't judge the quality in the store because the pictures are usually fuzzy and look like they are hooked up to rabbit ears.

My PS1 looks like crap on it though... very pixellated on such a large screen. But, then again, I guess you're not supposed to sit 3 feet from the screen while playing. My tv has coax (which is worthless if you want a good picture), rca, 2 YPbPr, S-Video, 2 HDMI and VGA for use as computer monitor. Also has stereo speaker jacks like those found on back of AV receivers. The built in speakers aren't worth much and they aren't visible from the front, which i really like... it's all screen in front.

Yeah! That's the best part...you don't need a mirror on your wall! It is hard to get to the jacks since they are on the back though.

do all plasmas have the hard reflective glass on there screen? I was in a TV store and the plasmas had a terrible reflection on them compared to the LCD's.

Yes, they do. But the nice ones have an anti-reflective coating on the glass.

These would not include the "Wal-Mart" plasmas.

Also, beware those sweet looking piano black cabinets on newer LCDs & Plasmas - very shiny surface that produces a lot of glare in room w/ several windows.
