How the hell does this guy stay in the big league loop? He was not a great (or all that popular) player. He’s not that knowledgeable, and he is not that personable or charismatic. His coworkers do not seem to like him and if anything give him a hard time when it’s probably irresistible to do so. NO ONE I have brought him up around seems to care for him and usually dislikes him as much (or more) than I do. Is there anyone who actually likes him? Who is it that tunes in looking forward to hearing the guy repeat himself and flip-flop and go into often pointless one-sided arguments in that annoying nag-tone of his?

How long are we going to have to listen to Joey "compound fracture" Theismann?

I liked him as a player but he is not much of an announcer. I think they keep him because he has been there so long.

My wife, who has no idea who Theismann is or who he was as a player, thinks he was awful.

The dood backpedals so far and fast often, especially this season with baldy calling him out, that he's lucky he doesn't find himself falling over the espn backdrop greenscreen every other play.

He's gotta be the worst of any booth doods, and that's saying something.

He's a QB with a ring and he's articulate. I really think that's all there is to it.

i liked him as a player, and i loved it when he started that QB breakdown thing before MNF...he is pretty quick to point things out in a game, but over the years, he's really drifted into this thing with his ego and got away from what made people like him to begin with

he looks pretty funny wearing a wig next to a couple of bald guys though

I mainly started hating him when he and Michael Vick became lovers. Joe Vickmann. What a jerkoff. And all he talks about is quarterbacks, and his analysis normally proves WRONG.

If I could pick the MNF team out of any of the current people, it would be Michaels, Aikman and Fouts. I would love there to be another Cosell to offset the jocks. Kornheiser is not him, and I cannot think of who could do it correctly. Guess there will never be another Howard. But I think this trio would be professional and offer the most balance
